For the last nine years, The Lakeway Church has participated in a program entitled "Angel Tree" which provides gifts to the children of incarcerated parents.  A Christmas tree is set up in the Narthex with the names, sex and ages of approximately 50 kids living in poverty in South Central Texas.   

There are two ways that our members can help:
1)    We have children of Austin families where our congregation will be asked to purchase gifts and deliver the gifts to the families.
2)    We also support Angel Tree children in South Texas who will not be sponsored because the local churches cannot support the ministry financially.  There are over 2,000 children in the Valley who do not usually have a sponsor.  In addition, we partner with St. James Catholic Church in Beeville where children will be invited to a party at the church and receive gifts purchased by St. James with funds provided by our church members.

This has been a popular Christmas giving program, with all the tree "ornaments" being snapped up soon after the tree is set up!
