Thanks to recent spring rains, the grass in our front yard is actually green (and growing!) And a couple of flowering bushes I thought were ‘goners’ have sprouted the prettiest pink and yellow petals. How exciting it is every spring to watch new life sprout and begin to grow. How much greater joy is it, however, to watch our children grow in their knowledge and understanding of the word of God and demonstrate a desire to serve Him with their whole heart?
Recently one of my children came to me with the idea of starting a prayer group at the homeschool co-op. Now obviously, prayer is already an important part of our group. However, his idea went a step further. He desired to offer a room at the end of each co-op Friday where anyone from the H.I.S. Group (parent or child) could come and pray, be prayed for or with, and find encouragement through scripture. Last week he and a small handful of students met to finalize details for this new group. I was in awe as I watched and listened to their conversations on how to best demonstrate the love of Jesus to their classmates. As if that wasn’t enough, just as they were about to wrap up, they asked if they could pray for each of the Leaders. As we sat at the table and one by one each student prayed for us and for the group, tears filled my eyes and excitement filled my heart. It was awesome to watch their relationship with our Heavenly Father ‘growing’ before our very eyes. Praise and glory to our God and King!
Yes, this spring IS exciting.
Also exciting are the classes currently being formulated for Term 3; once finalized they will be available on our website at www.LakeTravisHIS.com. March 9 will be the last Friday in Term 2. There will be no classes on Friday, March 16, and Term 3 classes will begin on Friday, March 23.
